Twitter Video Downloader for X

Paste a link from X (Twitter) and the post appears with its video playing. One button saves it to your phone or computer, free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

Works with

Faster: in any link, change x.com to toohottopost.com and press enter.

Save what you have the right to keep: your own posts, work you have permission for, or content its owner shares for reuse.

Copy the post link from X (Twitter), either from the Share button in the app or from the browser address bar; x.com and twitter.com links both work. The post shows up here in a second or two with its video, text and author, and the big button saves the best file X keeps for it. Smaller sizes and a sound only MP3 sit right under it.

X stores each video in a few sizes by bitrate, usually topping out at 720p or 1080p, and you get exactly those files, not a re-encoded copy. GIFs come down as MP4, because that is how X stores them. Photos arrive at their original size, and a post with several photos or videos gives each one its own button plus a ZIP of them all. Only public posts can be read: protected accounts and Spaces audio are out of reach.

How to download a Twitter video

  1. Copy the post link

In the X app tap Share, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address of the post from the browser. Links from x.com and twitter.com both work.

  2. Paste it here

The post appears in a second or two with its own video playing, the text and the author, so you can check it is the right one.

  3. Save the file

The big button saves the highest quality X keeps. Smaller sizes and "sound only, MP3" are right under it. Several media in one post? Each gets a button, or take them all as a ZIP.

  4. Find it on your device

On iPhone the file lands in Files, in the Downloads folder. On Android it goes to Downloads. On a computer, your usual downloads folder.

What you can save from X, and what you cannot

  • Videos from public posts

In every size X stores for that video, from the highest bitrate down to a small file for sharing.

  • GIFs, as MP4

X turns every GIF into a short MP4 video when it is posted, so that is the file you get. It plays and loops like the original.

  • Photos at original size

Not the smaller copy shown in the timeline.

  • Posts with several photos or videos

Save each one separately or all of them in one ZIP.

  • The sound of a video as MP3

Made on your own device from the video, so it is the sound exactly as heard in the post.

  • Not possible: protected accounts

Posts from protected (private) accounts cannot be read without logging in as a follower, so the tool cannot open them.

  • Not possible: Spaces audio

Live and recorded Spaces are not supported.

Copying the right link

A post link looks like x.com/name/status/1234567890. That number is what identifies the post. If a quoted post holds the video, open the quoted post first and copy its link, not the link of the post quoting it. On iPhone, Safari may ask whether to download: tap Download, then find the file in Files → Downloads, where you can share it or save it to Photos.
