This Instagram video downloader saves public reels, video posts, photo posts and carousels to your phone or computer. Paste the post link and the post appears in about 8 seconds with its own video playing and the account that posted it. One button saves the best file; smaller sizes and a sound only MP3 sit under it.
You get the file at the size Instagram serves it, usually up to 1080 px wide, as MP4 for video and JPG for photos. A carousel shows every photo and video with its own button, plus one button that saves them all as a ZIP. It works in the browser on iPhone, Android and desktop, so there is nothing to install.
Copy the post link
In the Instagram app, tap the share icon (the paper plane) under the post, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.
Paste it here
The post appears in about 8 seconds, with its video playing, its cover and the account name, so you can check it is the right one before you save anything.
Save the file
The large button saves the best version. Other sizes and sound only (MP3) are just below it. In a carousel, each item has its own button, and Download all saves them as a ZIP.
Find it on your device
On iPhone the file lands in Files → Downloads. On Android it goes to your Downloads folder. On a computer it goes wherever your browser saves downloads.
Reels
As MP4, at the size Instagram serves them, with the sound.
Video posts and photo posts
Videos as MP4, photos as JPG at their original size on Instagram.
Carousels
Each photo or video one by one, or all of them together as a ZIP.
Sound only
An MP3 made on your own device from the video, so it is the audio exactly as heard in the post.
Not stories or highlights
Instagram only shows them to a logged in account, and we don't ask for anyone's Instagram login.
Not private accounts
Only posts anyone can open without following the account can be read.
What you get
Format
Instagram does not keep a larger copy than the one it serves, so no tool can give you more than this without the original file from the creator.
Getting a video into your iPhone Photos
Safari saves downloads to Files → Downloads, not to Photos. Open the file there, tap the share icon and choose Save Video (or Save Image) and it moves into your camera roll. On Android most gallery apps pick up the Downloads folder by themselves.
